Have you ever felt unworthy of love?  Have you felt that there is no way anyone could ever love you?  God loves you no matter what.  No matter how you feel.  No matter what you have done.  No matter what has been done to you.  You are always loved.

“Who will love me for me?  Not for what I have done or what I will become.  Who will love me for me?  ‘Cause nobody has shown me what love, what love really means, what love really means.”- What Love Really Means by JJ Heller

There may have been people in your life who made you feel unlovable.  Maybe your husband left you. Maybe your parents tried to live vicariously through you.  Maybe you felt like you could never measure up to your parents standards.  Maybe you had “friends” who treated you poorly.  It doesn’t matter how you feel about yourself.  It doesn’t matter how other people have made you feel.  God loves you so much.

I have often felt unlovable.  I have struggled with low self-esteem from a very young age.  I often feel like I’m not really good at anything.  This is not true.  It can still be hard for me to notice my strengths, but I have gotten better at laughing at my weaknesses.  For, example, I am horrible at wrapping presents.  I used to just put them all in bags.  I started wrapping them the last few years because I know it is more fun to unwrap presents than to take them out of the bag.  I used to feel discouraged every time I wrapped presents.  Now, I just laugh at myself.  Wrapping presents is not one of my talents, who cares?

My struggle with intrusive thoughts and OCD has definitely made me feel unworthy of love.  I hated myself.  I felt that I didn’t deserve to live.  I thought, there is no way God could love someone like me.  But, guess what?  He does.  He loves me even though I struggle with OCD and intrusive thoughts. He loves me even though I struggle with Depression and Anxiety.  He loves me even though I have made mistakes.  He loves me even when others have made me feel unworthy of love.

It doesn’t matter what you are struggling with.  We all struggle with something.  God loves us anyway.  All you need to do is accept His love.  This can be hard.  When you feel so unworthy, how could God even love you?  But Jesus died and rose again for our sins so we don’t need to be worthy.  We just need to accept God’s love and grace.  It is impossible to be perfect, but it is possible to accept God’s grace.  Mistakes you made in the past may have come back to haunt you.  This is okay, God still loves you.  You may have been through major trauma.  If this is the case for you, I’m so sorry.  God loves you so much.  You could be struggling with different illnesses.  God loves you.  No matter how you feel about yourself, God loves you.  Don’t be afraid to receive His love.

If you have Depression

You are loved

If you’ve faced oppression

You are loved

When you have intrusive thoughts

You are loved

Even if you hate your guts

You are loved

When you struggle to like yourself

You are loved

When you wish you were someone else

You are loved

If you have Anxiety

You are loved

When your flaws are all you see

You are loved

No matter how you feel

You are loved

God’s love for you is real

You are ALWAYS loved
